I teach special education in a small class setting in the South Bronx. My students are composed of students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities that come from low-income families. Middle school can be hard, especially when so many changes are happening, so I want my students to always feel safe and loved in the classroom. Providing them with a safe and relaxing area in the classroom is important and can help teach them essential social emotional learning skills. These skills will transfer to other settings and help them succeed in real life situations. Your support will help me provide my students with the tools that they need to become successful individuals.
