My students amaze me every single day! They may be autistic and nonverbal, but they have so much to say! In their attempts to communicate, I attempt to decipher what they want and need. Through this process, I get to know them inside and out. Some are affectionate cuddle bears, some are spirited go getters, some are dancers, some are organizers, some are builders - I could go on about them all day! They are so unique and deserve the best, which is what brought me to this site. One of my biggest priorities is to help them emotionally regulate; my students often have great difficulty keeping calm as their rocked with huge emotions, frustrations, sensory seeking, and sensory overload. Their difficulties communication and challenges with motor skills can make every task frustrating, but we stick with it no matter what! Together I know we can change these children’s lives.
