Change classroom photo
My first graders are inquisitive, and they are always wanting to know how and why. Many are quite tech-savvy and would sit still while using a laptop, but when it's time to sit at a desk and learn as a whole group, some have attention issues. A large carpet would help them to have a change of pace for a mini-lesson. They are six years old. Some have very supportive families, others have grandparents doing the best they can. Some grasp ideas quickly, others have a hard time paying attention for myriad reasons: loud neighbors, fighting family members, sleeping on the floor at night, etc. My school is a loving environment-big on caring but low on budget money. The staff comes together to help our school families in need, whether it's a death in a student's family or a house fire.
