My students are vibrant, energetic ready to learn children. They are first graders that want to become readers. They all have a thirst for learning, but they all have beginner challenges when it comes to reading. Some have issues with decoding words, while others have issues with comprehension, and another group need help with writing a response. All are normal for the first grade. My students need a lot of practice to overcome those obstacles. My school is a inner city school that is transitioning from being departmentalized to an all inclusive class. There is little funding for extra materials because of the changes being made.
