My students are part of a large urban California public middle school serving a diverse community of people from every walk of life. From recent immigrants speaking 14 different languages or dialects to families facing the threat of gun violence every day, the common denominator is the value these students and their families place on education. My students are enthusiastic learners when given an opportunity to work collaboratively to come up with creative solutions to the most challenging problems. With their energy and imagination, they will change the world.
