My students are in the second grade, meaning that most are seven and eight years old. The majority of my students are minorities, being mostly African-American and Hispanic. Additionally, many students in my class are English Language Learners. A small few have been in the United States for less than a year and know little to no English at all. Even with some of the adversity that these students may have to face on a daily basis, they still come to school ready to learn and always put forth their best effort. Together, the students and I will work to make their learning experience as meaningful and positive as possible. The students would be beyond grateful for any help they receive for supporting their education.
