  • Comfortable Music Chairs for Young Musicians: Part Three

    Our new music chairs have already made a big difference in our classroom! Students are using them every day during music lessons, rehearsals, and group activities. The chairs provide the support and comfort needed for young musicians to sit with good posture, which makes playing instruments and singing together much easier.

    When the students first walked in and saw the chairs set up, their eyes lit up. Several even said, "Wow, these look so nice!" and couldn't wait to try them. It was a joy to see how excited they were to have a space that feels special and just for them.

    With these chairs, we are now able to focus more on making music without distractions. Students are preparing for our upcoming concert, and the comfort of the chairs is helping them stay engaged and confident throughout longer rehearsals. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom feels more like a true music space where young musicians can learn, create, and perform at their best.”

  • Storytime & Song: Bringing Music to Life Through Books

    Funded Jun 14, 2025

    Our new collection of music-themed storybooks has truly brought joy and excitement into the classroom! These books are helping students make important connections between music and literacy. Each story introduces lessons about rhythm, teamwork, creativity, and expression, while also supporting early reading skills such as vocabulary, comprehension, and sequencing.

    Reading time in our classroom is now full of energy and curiosity. Students love listening to stories read aloud, then joining in with singing, clapping rhythms, or acting out parts of the book. This hands-on approach makes reading come alive and allows students to see how words and music work together to tell stories.

    Some of my most reluctant readers are now the first to volunteer to hold a book or read along with me. One student in particular lights up whenever we use books with songs woven into the story—she eagerly sings every line and even leads her classmates. These materials are not just books on a shelf; they are sparking confidence, imagination, and a love for both reading and music in our students.”

  • Organized & Ready: Ukulele Racks for Our Music Classroom

    Funded Apr 4, 2025

    When my students first saw the new ukulele racks, they were amazed at how neat and professional our classroom looked. Instead of searching through piles of cases or balancing instruments on desks, every ukulele now has a safe and organized home. The students love walking in and seeing the ukuleles lined up, ready for them to pick up and play. It has given them a sense of pride and responsibility in caring for our instruments.

    These racks have already made a big difference in how smoothly our lessons run. We can now transition quickly into playing without wasting time passing out instruments, which means more time making music together. One of my favorite moments so far was watching a group of fourth graders walk confidently to the racks, grab their ukuleles, and immediately begin practicing a new chord progression—they felt like real musicians in a professional setting.

    Our next step is preparing for upcoming performances where students will showcase the songs they've been learning. Thanks to your support, the ukuleles are not only better cared for but also more accessible, which makes practicing and performing so much more enjoyable. These racks will continue to benefit our music program for years to come, and we are so grateful for your generosity in making this possible!”

  • A Recorder for Every Child: Empowering Young Musicians

    Funded Jul 15, 2025

    When my students received their new recorders, the excitement in the room was contagious! Many of them couldn't believe that each child would get their very own instrument to play. They immediately wanted to try them out, and the joy on their faces as they produced their first notes was priceless. Having their own recorder gives each student a sense of ownership and pride, and it has already made a huge difference in their enthusiasm for learning music.

    We are now using the recorders daily to learn songs, practice rhythms, and explore melodies. One of the most memorable moments so far has been hearing an entire class play "Hot Cross Buns" together for the first time—it was a little squeaky, but the students were so proud of themselves for creating real music as a group. Because every child has their own instrument, we can move forward as a class without delays, and students are more motivated to practice at home.

    Our next big step is preparing for our concert, where students will showcase the songs they've been learning on their recorders. This project has given them not only the tools they need to succeed but also the confidence to perform proudly. Thank you for bringing music to life for my students!”
