Students with autism usually have problems with motor and social skills. Since I teach primary aged students (K-2), I have to think of fun and innovative ways of keeping my children engaged as they learn. I am excited to use the materials that I have requested because I am certain that these materials would be extremely helpful not only for my verbal students but to my non-verbal students as well. Furthermore, since my students have social skills deficiencies, I am starting a "buddy-system" with their neuro-typical peers. The materials that I am requesting are wonderful tools to foster interaction with their "buddies". I hope this request will be funded so that my primary students with autism would get further help in improving their gross and fine motor skills and also their social skills.
