I teach four drama classes at three different skill levels; there are 77 students who have different personalities, learning styles, and theatrical knowledge, but all of them have a desire to express themselves onstage. Drama kids are ever-present in activities throughout school, and drama benefits them daily. They want to impact change for themselves and others through performance. My drama students make bold decisions and stretch their creativity. I teach two technical theatre classes; there are 47 students who are essential to the drama department, for without them, the show would not go on. Tech theatre students are some of the hardest working kids on campus. They do backstage work without getting the glory. Tech theatre students are team players. In tech theatre classes, we learn how to build sets, create props, design and execute lighting and sound effects, conceptualize costumes, and apply stage makeup.
