My students will benefit from the visual as well as tactile stimulation provided by these materials. The light tablet will illuminate the tools and provide the visual stimulation many of my students seek. The materials themselves will provide tactile stimulation that is calming for so many of my students. Persons with Autism often have difficulty regulating their sensory systems. Sensory stimulation can help them gain the control over their bodies and emotions that they need to be successful in the classroom and in life. My students have great potential and these materials will benefit them greatly and make a big difference in their lives. These materials can also be used in a variety of ways and with many different age groups. The light board can be used to help develop handwriting skills as well as for science exploration. The sensory materials can be used to teach colors, size, shapes as well as textures. Making learning fun and stimulating for students is my goal!
