Harding Middle School is a Title 1 school in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. Over 99% of my students fall below the poverty line and receive free lunch. I teach Special Education Inclusion Reading for 8th grade students meaning that nearly half of my students have IEPs comprised of a multitude of learning disabilities, cognitive disorders, and emotional and behavioral health needs. My school does not have the resources necessary to really meet the needs of the students that it serves. Currently, Harding Middle School has six teacher vacancies and many teachers who are chronically absent creating a turbulent environment for both students and staff.
