My seventh grade students are surrounded by technology and they need to learn to interact with it in an intelligent way. As our learning standards lean more and more toward preparing students for real-world experiences, my students need to learn how to take in information from a variety of sources and to process it effectively. Individual headphones will provide my students with the opportunity to listen to speeches, podcasts, and interviews as many times as they need to. When we listen to these sources as a class, it is sometimes difficult for all of my students to keep up. Headphones will allow my students to take in the information that they are listening to at their own pace, to replay it as many times as is necessary for their individual learning practice, and to pause it whenever they need a moment to think.
