Our bustling, lively school is located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Our students are bright, energetic and from many walks of life. The main demographic group is Latino and many students speak English as a second language. Most of our students come from impoverished homes and cannot purchase their own books or many of their own school supplies. Our staff strives to create an environment where students feel safe and accepted and works to help them learn more about their world to inspire global awareness and future leadership. Because our students are incredibly social and energized by conversation, they love sharing and learning about each others' lives and interests and are quick to debate. We strive to deeply engage them in collaborative activities that incorporate their strengths, interests and challenge their thinking.
