I teach a classroom of students who are children of immigrants, and in most cases they live below the poverty level. All of them are receive free or reduced price lunch and do not have access to the internet at home. Our school is an overcrowded neighborhood school in the city of Chicago. Even though our school services more than it can handle, our halls are always full of students wanting to learn all they can, especially 21st century skills like using a computer. Because all of my students are acquiring a new language, the internet opens their eyes to a world of possibilities.
