Since we are unable to be in the classroom together due to school closures related to COVID-19, an iPad and stylus will allow me to give my students a better learning experience during online instruction. Google Meet doesn't allow me to show videos or play games with the students, as it lags every time we have tried it. Other teachers at our school have had great experiences using an iPad to engage in these learning tasks with students, so I would like to give my students the same opportunities as well. Our classroom is compiled of students from different grade levels and abilities, so some students are kinesthetic learners while others are more visual learners. Visual learners in our class would really benefit from me being able to incorporate those videos into our lessons again. Many of our lessons are also related to social/emotional learning, and I have found that showing students social stories helps them succeed in this area. Aside from adding videos into lessons, there are many other great things that having an iPad would help students with during distance education. The opportunities with having the correct technology to teach during these times are endless. My students and I would be so grateful if given the tools to enhance our online learning experience!
