The students who attend my school are very special. Approximately 95% of them receive free or reduced meals because of their poverty level. A large percentage are English Language learners. They attend school in classes of 35 students, with over 1200 students sharing the middle school with them! The surrounding communities, as well as the countries some have fled, are rife with gangs. However, these students strive to overcome those challenges.
