My students will need these Language and Math Family Engagement Kits to practice at home with family to reinforce important skills taught in class. I would LOVE to see LEARNING go beyond the classroom walls! My class demographics is half African American and half ESOL students. Many parents have limited skills themselves or have very little time to help their child practice skills and do homework. It is EXTREMELY important to have learning resources in the homes of my students that parents can understand and easily use with their child. Your generous donation to this project for fun and engaging literacy and math skills kits at home each week will help the whole family learn together. Student knowledge and confidence will get a boost; achievement will increase having these kits at home. Furthermore, by adding this component to help my students, I anticipate an additional BONUS of building better relationships and communications with my students and parents! Yay! One step closer to breaking barriers that place limitations on my ESOL students and parents. Each of the kits will have directions in English and Spanish, so ALL families can jump right into learning!
