As a general education teacher, I am requesting Kindle Fire's for my students. They will gain more differentiated instruction to the subjects they will be learning in class. Giving low-income students access to new technology is an investment in their future and will give them confidence that they never knew they had. There are tons of apps that will help my students learn in a different way than they are use to. I will be able to meet the needs of all my students using the Kindle Fire's. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Students are more comfortable with technology, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy and math skills as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
