Comfy Cozy Carpet
Funded Oct 24, 2024I cannot thank you so much for your generous donation of the new rug for our classroom! It has already made a tremendous difference in the learning environment, and I'm excited to share how it has positively impacted our students.
We've been using the rug for a variety of activities, but one moment that stands out is during our morning circle time. The students gather together on the rug to participate in our daily routines—whether it's calendar time, singing songs, or reading books. The soft, cozy texture of the rug makes the students feel comfortable and more engaged in the lesson. One of our favorite uses has been during our literacy lessons. We have been practicing letter recognition and phonics through a fun game called "Letter Hop." Each day students take turns hopping from one letter to another as we call out the letter names or sounds. The students love the movement and the chance to interact with the letters in a hands-on way. The rug makes this activity even more engaging, providing a soft and safe space for the students to jump and play while they learn!
When the students first saw the new rug, their eyes lit up! They were so excited to have a beautiful new space to sit. Each student now has their own "learning spot" where they have their own personal square to sit in while they sit during morning meeting, lessons, and even to relax and enjoy a movie when they earn one for great behavior.
Thanks again for your generosity in helping us create such a warm and inviting space for our young learners. Your contribution has made a lasting impact, and we are so grateful for your support!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Colandro
Indoor Recess Fun!
Funded Oct 27, 2021I cannot begin to express the joy you have given to my classroom. The new Legos, playdough, beads, chalk, and blocks have created a fun and engaging indoor recess. With the colder weather here, my students now look forward to staying in the classroom.
My students lit up each time new materials were delivered to our classroom. My students love any opportunity they get to use their imagination. As COVID restricts my students from being able to gather in groups, these new items you have gifted us have brought the joy and innocence any 5 year old should experience in kindergarten.
My students and I thank you for being so kind and thoughtful. We are so lucky!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Colandro
