They are a diverse and active group of six year-old learners including 5 students with special needs, 11 second language learners, and 14 boys. Many of them are living in poverty with very little control over events or circumstances in their lives. 92% of the students in our school qualify for free or reduced price lunch. In our classroom, students are empowered to make choices about how and where they best learn.
