Our school is a suburban middle class high school that offers several magnet programs. Two of the most popular programs are nursing and veterinary science to which most of my students belong. My students are enthusiastic, hard working and driven, many will be the first generation in their families to attend college. When asked about their future careers, they tend to favor a medical or veterinary career although I have several who are interested in an engineering degree. For many, chemistry poses a special challenge as they must learn English as well.
