Art is a universal language that breaks cultural barriers. In trying to enhance my students' learning experiences through art, I have determined that at school we lack the mediums necessary to produce artwork that is reflective of their ethnic identities. The Prismacolor markers as well as acrylic paints and chalk pastels include assorted colors that can be mixed and manipulated to generate colors that reflect their ethnicity and skin tones. With these art supplies, my students will be able to relate to one another as they explore different cultures and ethnicities through an art lens.
