The materials I am requesting for my classroom will be greatly appreciated for years to come! The large rug will be placed in the front of the classroom as a meeting area for daily community circles and whole group lessons. The small couch will be used in the reading nook as an alternative space for independent and small group reading and math activities. The students will be able to use the floor pillows throughout the classroom to provide additional comfort, whether it be on the classroom rugs, the reading nook or at their desks. Much like the floor pillows, the students will utilize the bean bag chairs as another asset to their learning. A donation to this project will help drastically improve my students engagement in class activities and create a comfortable, relaxing environment to learn in. Learning is an active, collaborative, and social process. Flexible classroom spaces enable teaching and learning. A comfortable environment must support multiple types of learning styles, provide safety and functionality, and enable connections in and out of the classroom. Research shows that successful flexible seating increases a students commitment to their learning and provides greater student and less teacher control. Please help me redesign my classroom into a space that is inviting and enjoyable to come to every single day!
