These materials will be used to support the learning in our classroom. The curriculum and books are used to support the learning of social skills, self-esteem and relationship building, and strengthening their mental health and distress tolerance. The art supplies are used as a therapeutic intervention and to create a comfortable environment for the students. They often feel more comfortable sharing how they are feeling or what they need help with when their hands are busy creating with things like playdough and paints. I also like to keep snacks in my room because students often need a mid-day snack or small pick me up while they are visiting. These two snacks are crowd favorites! The impact any one of these items will make on these kids is something that they will carry with them for a lifetime.
