Classrooms are all too often islands of education. Teachers rarely get to see everything that is happening in their classroom. Students almost never get to see evidence of their growth in real time. I am asking for an assistant in the classroom- one that will help me, and my students, achieve personal and academic growth. Swivl is a device that will allow everyone in the classroom to see where they can be doing better. Our classroom is set up in a station rotation model; students move from place to place within the classroom to work on different aspects of the task. One of the stations is where a small group meets with me for instruction. Consequently, eighth graders need to learn focus and motivation in order to progress successfully. With the help of audio and video evidence that Swivl provides, the students and I will be able to adjust, reteach, and relearn.
