My name is Brooke Bowen and I teach second grade at Philip Simmons Elementary! My teaching philosophy is that teachers are way more than what their job description describes. I believe that I'm responsible for more than just teaching students what's listed in the curriculum. Although this is very important when it comes to education, relationships are also key when it comes to a successful classroom. I strive to have positive, meaningful relationships with my students as well as teach them how to have meaningful relationships with others. Creating a warm and welcoming classroom is another puzzle piece that will also help create successful, loving students to reach their goals and dreams. My heart beats for children and I couldn't think of a more rewarding job than being a teacher!
