The new generation of students is quickly realizing that technology is becoming an influential part of their lives. This influence is quickly extending into their education and becoming an integral part of their curriculum. An iPad would allow for the introduction of a technologically based program known as spatial-temporal Math (ST Math) as part of their curriculum.
Based on the latest research, ST Math is a visually innovative game instructional software to “boost math comprehension and proficiently through visual learning” through the use of kinesthetic learning to tap into a student’s short term memory and create consolidation and application of the materials. My goal is to create a fun and interactive learning environment while having the students build familiarity with technology. Having the iPad with the ST Math would create a foundation of the student’s academic future and facilitation of success in future technologically-based standardized testing such as Smarter Balance.
