My students love to read! We just started discussing the different types of genres, and the kids have an interest in non-fiction books/articles. Our school library is currently not allowing students to check out books, and my own classroom library is supplied solely by me. So, having Scholastic News Magazine would be a huge asset. Not only are students reading about current events, but they are using essential reading strategies in order to answer a variety of different comprehension questions. This class keeps asking when their magazines are coming in, and after so many requests, I need to provide my kiddos with material that they are genuinely interested in!

About my class
