Welcome, potential donors, to Ms. Kral's Donors Choose page for my English II (sophomores) and English III (juniors) classes at H.D. Woodson Senior High School in Northeast Washington, D.C. More than 80 percent of H.D. Woodson students qualify for free-and-reduced meals, and most of my kids live in high poverty (and high crime) neighborhoods. The Woodson student body is about 98 percent African American. This is my fourth year teaching English at H.D. Woodson, and I continue to struggle financially to acquire fiction and nonfiction books that appeal to my students, procuring materials for projects that both educate and engage, and accessing technology resources--including hardware and software--to ensure my students receive the richest education possible. In addition to teaching English, I co-sponsor the H.D. Woodson Art Club, focusing on ensuring that student members have access to a variety of resources
