We are a developmental preschool classroom that serves students with special needs. Our half day preschool program (AM/PM) has up to 10 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 2 typically developing peers per session (24 preschoolers total). Being at a Title 1 school, my students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, many of whom qualify for free or reduced lunch. Students in my classroom speak a number of different languages including Spanish, Amharic, Tigrinya, and Somali. Many of my students are English Language Learners. We focus on multiple areas of development including adaptive, social/behavior, early academics, speech, and fine/gross motor. Our goal is to teach to the whole student and provide the necessary modifications to help them succeed!
