These supplies will be so important to the smooth functioning of the students' literacy class. Without these highlighters, markers, colored pencils, erasers, and sharpeners, the kids would have a harder time creating fun and meaningful reading assignments. For example, children will use the highlighters to highlight details in the texts they are reading in order to write strong text-dependent analysis essays. Also, the children will be more engaged in completing reading-response assignments when they are able to use markers, glue, and colored pencils. Finally, the children always love filing their reading logs, book reports, response journals, and other assignments in the color-coded hanging folder files. These supplies will bolster the funtionality of the literacy classroom in tremendous ways.
