Introducing students to Target Games by using the bowling/shuffleboard equipment will teach the skills needed to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle. Students will be able to learn the finesse that comes with target games as opposed to the explosive, strength components used in other activities. There will be several lanes that will be set up in the gym; 3 bowling and 3 shuffleboards accompanied by other target games like frisbee golf and indoor horse shoes. Donating to our project will not only help students gain the skills to complete the task at hand, but they will be able to transfer learning when participating in other activities. They will be able to transfer and enhance their aim, control, trajectory, velocity, release, and proximity when playing other sports. Because these activities are non-traditional, it builds curiosity, creativity, and presents new challenges.
