My students are amazing little people. Most of them qualify for free or reduced meals at our Title 1 school in DC. They often have only one uniform set that they wear the entire year, they can barely afford the school supplies and they often have very little support at home. But they always carry a big smile, an eagerness to learn and such an immense trust and love for their teacher. And they yearn to learn about the world outside the school and outside their home. They are tiny world-explorers-to-be and I am their guide.
