I have just moved into my kindergarten classroom at our school after the start of the school year. The kindergarten is overcrowded so I am opening a new classroom. There is no rug in my classroom or available in the building. There is no easel. Kindergarten students spend most instructional time gathered on the classroom rug, a central meeting point in any early childhood classroom. I've asked for several types of rugs, and fitness balls, so students can have seating options throughout my room. Young children may not have developed the core strength necessary to it in a chair all day so it makes good sense to allow them to choose the best way for them to sit in class. Please help me make my kindergarten classroom a welcoming place for young learners.
