These students are truly next-level scholars, tasked with the extra challenge of thriving in a 4th/5th combo class. The 26 megastars put their own high emphasis on collaboration, self-regulation and independence, and building a learning community organically by listening to and working with one another to not only complete academic work, but also to determine the classroom procedures and conventions. The 16 fourth-graders in the combo are rising to the challenge of keeping up with older students, and the 10 fifth-graders in the combo are attacking the added responsibility of being the oldest students in school with energy and enthusiasm.
