The past two years have been hard for students and teachers. There is so much to process, healing to occur, and growth to look forward to. The Breathe for Change training provides me with an opportunity to build my toolkit to help students and teachers. The time spent learning will enhance my own well-being and allow me to learn how to support the mental, physical, and social-emotional needs of my students, loved ones, and community. This training is especially powerful because it will allow me to bring together social emotional learning exercises and elementary curriculum in an authentic way that helps students increase empathy, cultivate resilience, and build community. I also hope to share my learnings with fellow educators so that they can use these tools in their classrooms and lives.
