My students read a variety of books in the curriculum I am given to teach. However, these books are dated and it is difficult to get students interested in material that is not interesting. I am always searching for material to have students read that will get their attention and in turn that will make them want to read it and work on their skills with it. I have received a few samples of Scholastic Magazines in the past and made copies for students to work with some of the high-interest passages. The students absolutely love the fact they get to read magazines in class and they are full of articles and news stories the students are interested in and care about. I can make a much bigger impact on them and help grow their skills when they have material they want to read. My students would be thrilled to each get their own copy of these magazines throughout the school year!
