After introducing the science of reading, I've realized that my students need additional support to help them achieve success in their reading journey. Since this is a fresh concept for me, I would love to educate myself and my peers by reading books by respected professionals in the science of the reading world. These research-backed books will enable me to give my students the instruction they need to fill the gap that has been created by the Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020. Also, through the use of decodable readers in the classroom, my students will be able to apply what they are learning as they read. This will give them immediate confidence in their reading abilities! I am so excited to do better for my students and provide them with scientifically backed instruction to guide them in successful reading strategies.
