I teach a fantastic group of diverse students. Many of my students are high ability learners from an economically challenged community. Like many other public school systems, funds have been cut, and resources for our students are at an all time low.
These young students are curious and thrive on learning. Resources for a high ability cluster of students are limited in a low income school system. A typical third grade classroom has third grade materials. I have third graders who are able to read at a collegiate level. I create various projects that will differentiate my high ability students' learning and encourage my on level and below level learners to strive for their personal best.
It is my goal to challenge my students at every turn, feed their hunger of knowledge, and continue to spark their curiosity by providing them with high quality resources. It is my belief that my students are capable of breaking the stereotypical cycle from that of which they came. THEY AMAZE ME!
