Transitional and life skills are skills needed for students with special needs in order to gain employment and live a more productive life post-graduation. The life skills we practice with our classroom include financial literacy, following a recipe, sequencing steps in an activity, fulfilling an order, appropriate social skills, sharing, peer-peer work, basic number recognition, reading and comprehension and health and hygiene protocol are invaluable to these learners. Most projects will help us support all of the hands on learning opportunties that I provide for my students. One of our more popular projects is our Coffe Cart. We serve coffee to staff and community members for the school year. We received such great feedback from our staff community fro the joy it brings them. The students feel amazing when the teacher compliment their hard work. A simple cup of coffee has brought our community closer together.
