To help my students succeed during this pandemic, I believe an essential part of any kindergarten classroom is learning centers. We have our literacy centers and our math centers. This time is for students to take the skills we learn in our whole group phonics and math lessons and apply them with fun games and activities. Hands-on Sensory table, art supplies, and laminated resources can help students integrate their knowledge and boost confidence in their learning all through the magic of playing. The math centers include counting games, addition/subtraction activities, and number recognition practice. The literacy centers have games and activities that address letter/sound recognition, rhyming, CVC words, sight words, and word families. In kindergarten, it is important to have fun and learn through play!
