My students are energetic, funny, smart and hard working. 85% of our school population qualifies for free or reduced lunch. 46% of our students speak a language other than English at home. My students work hard all day to learn and achieve, but many are below grade level. Their families are often so busy working to make ends meet and provide for their children that working together on schoolwork at home is not always possible. Many of my kids live a life that I never even thought about when I was their age and they've experienced things no six year old should have to worry about. However, they come to school each morning excited for the day and ready to do their best. I do my best to add things to our classroom that I know will engage and excite them, but any extra help in doing that is always appreciated!
