During our geometry unit, my students will be able to construct their designs in 3D. Students learn by creating and having this opportunity will allow them to explore their multiple intelligences and how they can apply math to the real world. They will explore the mathematical and engineering concepts in order to visualize and have a better understanding of 3-dimensional shapes. This product will help my students focus on designing their structure, building their structure and working cooperatively to plan and implement the city; all while reinforcing the geometric concepts required to master in 4th grade. My students will then present their city to the school during STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) week.
