Reading nooks are important to having a wonderful classroom experience in the classroom. Having a comfortable place to sit is essential to a great reading area. Social-emotional learning, discussions, and floor games for play are essential to a wonderful classroom environment. I want my kiddos to have many different types of areas in class to feel comfortable and safe. To relax into an interesting story. To have fun with friends. Don't all students deserve comfort? My students are the sweetest kiddos, many have reading skills that are still developing, some need to wiggle (which is perfectly OK with me), and some just need different chill-out areas. Last year during COVID, children were at home. When you think about it students were at home in comfort. Now this year we are back to school, the rigor is on, and all my kiddos have are desks. Please take time to help me create a more comfortable class for my students with different spaces to read, laugh, and play together, which will in turn help impact their learning. Thank you in advance.
