My students come from a working-class environment where they spend their days, even summer days, away from home in daycare centers or babysitters houses. They rarely go to the park. Some come to preschool never having ridden tricycles. New playground equipment will give them a chance to appropriately play outside. The one-piece of playground equipment we have is old, cracked from the sun and broken. It also doesn’t allow 30 students to play on it at one time. So, they play inappropriately and problems arise. The new equipment will help them learn how to play together, share and use their imaginations!
