The Daily Five is a literacy structure that allows for differentiation in the classroom and provides consistency. It is an integrated literacy instruction and classroom management system for use in reading and writing workshops. It is a system of five literacy tasks that teaches students independence. A boombox listening center will help my students achieve the 4th aspect of the "Daily 5" reading program. They can listen to books and improve their reading fluency. In all, this may be the most vital portion of the daily 5 program, as it models reading for them and helps students gain a deeper understanding of texts read in class.
