The more you read the more you grow! As the Library Media Specialist at PS 17, it is my responsibility to expose my students to interesting and meaningful text that will enrich their learning experience. Since most of my students have difficulty reading the English language, borrowing traditional books has not made the impact that I would like. My goal would be to provide my students with small group instruction, along with the Kindles, to allow the students the opportunities to listen to stories read aloud which will model fluency and increase comprehension. Although I read daily to my students, the Kindles will allow them to select books that interest them individually.
