Special needs students always need new and engaging materials to learn and explore. With students who are all on different levels it is difficult to find materials that meets every student's educational needs. My students deserve the supplies, materials and supports that can help them learn and function in the school environment. For example, providing them with an area to calm down that includes supports to make them feel comfortable and that meet there sensory needs. In addition, providing supports in the learning environment to help them stay focused and on task is important for them so they can access curriculum. And lastly, my students need art supplies to do arts and crafts which they Enjoy and find calming as well. Without these things it is hard to teach and get them engaged and provide a learning environment that they are comfortable in.
