Students become lifelong readers by reading. I strive to give my students a wide variety of high interest reading choices. Each day my students spend time reading books of their choice independently during read to self. I want students to be able to see themselves in their books as well as learn about other cultures, so I am asking for multicultural books to add to our classroom library. In addition, I teach students to care for books as if they were friends. Sturdy book bins will help students to keep their individual reading choice books organized and well taken care of.

About my class
