Hello and welcome! My name is Mrs. Pitts, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, and I teach Second Grade at PGS Elementary School in Pauline, SC. I have a diverse group of learners from many socioeconomic backgrounds. Sometimes, school is the only thing my students have in common with each other, so we work hard to create shared experiences where students can prosper and grow together. My main goal as an educator is to create lifelong learners and leaders that will appreciate their education and self-motivate to push themselves as learners. Second grade is a critical age for fostering independence and giving students responsibility for their own learning, while at the same time making sure they are guided and taught at a developmentally appropriate level. Classroom setting, appropriate materials and hands on experiences are vital, and that is how I use Donors Choose to help our class!
